Regular examinations and tests allow us to create a detailed database on the basis of which we develop and implement their own rules and standards of production.

In Steelpress R & D laboratory, there regularly carried out tests that reproduce the actual working conditions of the products. All types of coupling heads, hinges, floor holders, board latches and its counterparts as well as other products we manufacture undergo rigorous testing.

As the latest product group in our range, Steelpress unbraked axles are also tested here. We check its strength, amortization characteristics, dimensions and axle correspondence with its parts: rocker arms, bearings, hubs. We also carry out usage test of axle on rough terrain with increased load index.

We measure, verify and validate the prototypes of coupling heads, board latches and its counterparts, hinges, floor holders, axles and other SPP products. All new products of Steelpress production pass through a strict process of quality assessment in the laboratory.

We conduct endurance tests: static and dynamic. Static testsing is focused on the tensile and tearing forces, affecting the product. Dynamic testing (or fatigue testing) examines the durability and wear of coupling heads and axle parts by simulation of its real operating conditions similar to those while its operation on trailer.

We regularly conduct salt spray chamber testing (NSS) based on the international standard EN-ISO 9227: Corrosion tests in artificial atmospheres – Salt Spray Testing. It checks the resistance of protective coating to corrosion while verifying the stability of the galvanazing process in Steelpress galvanizing workshop.

Products after fatigue testing and welded ones undergo penetration testing PT (Liquid Penetrant) and visual examination VT (Visual Testing). In the laboratory, we make accurate coordinate measurements of our products with the help of 3D machine and measurements of length and angle. We measure the thickness of the protective coating. Another category of research is a Shore A hardness measurement – hardness of rubber, caoutchouc, elastomers and other elastic materials.
