On 25–26 June, the 11th General Meeting of the Trailer Industry Verband (TiV) brought together representatives of the European trailer industry in Budapest. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the sector’s key challenges and define its future strategic direction🤝
The main topics of discussion included:
🔹 the harmonisation of regulations across the European Union and efforts to standardise technical requirements,
🔹 the development of technical standards and the planned amendments to the German StVZO regulations, which play a significant role in vehicle type approval and market operations,
🔹 digitalisation and innovation, including the implementation of new technologies and materials that support the industry’s development,
🔹 cooperation between manufacturers, suppliers and testing organisations to deliver modern, safe and compliant solutions.
Growing demand for light trailers across Europe, combined with differing national regulations, continues to increase market complexity. Further harmonisation of technical requirements therefore remains one of the key priorities for the industry. The meeting also highlighted TiV’s growing role in representing the interests of the trailer industry at the European level.
🌍 Following the official programme, participants continued their discussions during an evening cruise on the Danube. The unique setting of Budapest provided an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas, strengthen business relationships and foster closer cooperation among TiV members.
Participation in events such as the TiV General Meeting not only enables companies to stay up to date with the latest regulatory developments and market trends, but also allows them to actively contribute to shaping the future of the European trailer industry.
We would like to thank the organisers for a professionally organised event and for the opportunity to take part in valuable discussions on the future of the European trailer industry. 🚛
